Unwanted behavior from a lesson horse.
...In the past 2 weeks, my normally placid gelding has exhibited some unusual behaviour. He bolted with a lesson student, pins his ears, has tried to bite the farm caretaker, and supposedly tried to crush her in the gate.....

Make requests, not orders.
One friend of mine has a horse, female, about 8 years old and from Germany. The horse is very dirty, and in general speaking, without any carry. Also it does not want any equipment on it, and it does not follow any orders from people as well. Although I sit on it 3-4 times, without equipment, and it was calm....

Horse that will not allow haltering.
Major is a lovely horse with great manners except one thing. He will not allow anyone to put a halter on him. I can approach him with the halter on my arm, I can groom him and pick up his feet without a halter on, but as soon as I reach up to put the lead around his neck he walks away. .

...he can be a bit nippy, like when he is crossed tied to be brushed...He is also what is called cold back. We have to saddle him up slowly and gently, or he will exploded when led out, bucking and bucking..

Separation Anxiety and How to Cope.
My 25 year appaloosa has been at the same barn for at least 17 years. It has aprox. 50 horses. I want to move her to a friends house that has 2 horses. I am concerned about how she will react. She has 2 beaus at the stable and has been with the one for probably 15 years. My question is, can I move her without it having bad results. I don't want to upset her taking her away from whats she's used to..

Skittish Horses.
I have a 16 yr old Quarter Horse/Arabian and whenever I go to a show with him, he gets tense and nervous. ...he literally flies off the trailer ...looks around with his nostrils flared, circles and just freaks out. Then when I get on him it is much worse. He shies sometimes, holds his head very high, and does this little excited prance....

Childs Horse is Bucking.
What would make a horse start bucking after two hours of riding? His vet check was two weeks ago and he came out clean. I am shocked and stumped by this behaviour and would appreciate any input you could provide. All I can guess is that something was hurting and after two hours.

jealous, aggressive, possessive filly.
I have a 2 yr old dominate filly whom I have raised. I had her pastured with a 7 yr old timid gelding that I raised. They had not met until she was about a year old. If you brushed and played with her in the pasture she was fine but if the other horse got attention she would push him out of the way to be in the center....
