Dear Franklin,

Thank  you so much for your quick response. Wow!! what an eye opener. I always go to the internet to learn everything I can about horses. From you, I definitely learned that ground work was the key. When I asked my trainer to show me (some ground moves) she pretty much ignored me, verifying what you said about riding instructors only wanting to teach riding and nothing about horses. But with your tips on buying videos (for education) and the little things I should do, like leading backing, turning, then immediate reward (I just never thought of doing that), I know things will improve. I would love to have you come here for a clinic I will talk to my partner to see what he thinks. Any way thank you so much for really opening my eyes on some things I need to work on!! What you are doing, with answering question people have, is a blessing and your knowledge is definitely something I envy.

Thank you again so much, Jo Ann

Hi, Mr. Levinson,

I wrote to you quite a long time ago, early in 2006, then sent you a follow up a few months later.  You printed my story of Desi in your testimonial page.  There's a picture of her before and after.

Well, that was some time ago and I wanted to show you an even bigger difference in her.  It's now 2 years later and I have a horse that "snuggles" with her mom!

Considering she was called the Psycho Mare and I was told by numerous people (including trainers) to put her down, this is how far we've come.

If it wasn't for you and your positive words, this horse would have been put down long ago.  Instead she's my little Snuggle Bum!

Thanks, again, 2 years later!!
Lisa

Dear Franklin,

I just wanted to write to you and say thanks.  I've been riding since I was 11 years old, I am now 27.  I've done hunter/jumpers, eventing and even dabbled a little in the western world.  So, as you might guess the majority of my time was on school horses.  There were usually older and some of them knew more than I did!

I've taken up trail riding and almost 8 months ago bought a 6 year old quarter/belgian draft cross mare.  She was wonderful when I tried her out and wonderful for the first couple of months at home.  Then she started to test me...on the trail she would balk and spin me around towards home even with horses riding with us.  She refused to go on trails she's been on many times.  And when leading her on the property, she would stop and plant her feet and say no.  I thought I had bought the most stubborn and opinionated horse ever until I came to your website.  Through a lot of time and patience, I can now say I have a really good horse.  She definetly trusts me more now and a lot of times when I groom her and I'm standing next to her shoulder, she turns her head to me and puts in on my shoulder and just sits there breathing in my ear.  She now comes to her stall door when she sees me, unless she's eating dinner or breakfast of course, but will still say hello and pick up her head for the halter when I come over.  What a good girl!

This is a long e-mail to say thanks, I read and read and read your website and even purchased your training through trust dvd.  We're both still a work in progress  but I owe you a huge thanks for all the valuable information your provide.

Sincerly, Danielle
Dear Franklin,
Please allow me to thank you for sharing all the wealth of experience and enlightening us hungry-for-knowledge horse people. As many readers of your website would agree, the appreciation on our part is tremendous (and so is on the part of our horses - if they just could talk.)....Petra
I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the service you provide to the "Horse World."

...After a quick Google search, I was on your site, and valuable information is gushing forth as fast as I can read! The dedication you exhibit will keep many of us (horses and humans) out here happier, healthier, saner and safer.

Keep up your wonderful and vital work!

With Sincerest Appreciation,

Hi Franklin,

I am so glad I found your website and grateful that you took the time to talk to me [phone consultation]. I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated talking to someone who has the same perspective on how to deal with horses as I do and was so easy to talk to....

...And I just watched your "Harry" DVD and had to laugh. ... It was hilarious and reassuring at the same time to see you deal with what I have....

I am so grateful for your advice and also confirmation that I am not crazy for keeping this "wild and dangerous horse" (as others have labeled him). I now firmly believe I can turn him into a great partner for me. Give me perhaps a week or so, so I can see how we are doing and then we perhaps talk again on the phone as I am sure I will have more questions.

Thanks so much, Franklin! You have definitely been an answer to my prayers!
Tanja
Hi. This is the first time I have looked at your website and I love it. I have always loved horses and always seemed to be one of those "naturals" around horses. My cousin's had them growing up, and in my teens my own family owned them. I always felt different with horses than any other animal--hard to explain to those who aren't "horse people" .  It has been about 12 years now since my quarter horse/arabian gelding died and a few months ago I got a very malnourished 25 year old arabian gelding given to me. I have learned so much while I've been caring for him and he continues to gain weight weekly. A couple months after that, we were given a paint and a chincoteauge pony by someone who was unable to care for them anymore. These are the first horses I have had with my husband and kids. All three were in need of a good home I know need time to adjust, trust and learn. I have picked up so much from you site that I know will help me with them--just wanted to say thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us who need it! :)

Dear Franklin,
My mare and I are finally doing very well. Training with you put me at peace with many horse related issues that I was having prior to having met and worked with you. The 'mare' is much happier as well! The weekend being coached by you was a fantastic experience and one that I will never forget. Many, many thanks.
Best regards always, Jamie
Thank you for your insightful website!

Too many "horse experts" out there just do what they can to make a fast buck... leaving horses behind that might be great for the "trainer" but still have issues at home because their owners haven't learned anything. I looked up your site trying to find some answers to why my young horse is cold backed and will buck occasionally, and what I found was so much more!

...I thought it was important to say how much I learned from and enjoyed your website, and how grateful I am for the reminder to appreciate those special horses in my life. I hope I can get enough interest together to have you out for a clinic sometime next year! I feel like I'm on the threshold to start learning more and improving my own skills, and can't wait to see how the next few months with horses unfolds.

Sincerely yours,
Chellie in Iowa and "Indy" a grade foxtrotter mare (and a real miracle horse!)

...After reading your writings on your website, I have already approached my horse in a different way today. I walked up to him with my hands by my side and he put his head down and it was like we were exchanging breathing or sniffing. Before, I was one of those who reached up to pet him and he would put his head up or he would put his head down when I was feeding him a carrot and I thought he only was loving me for my treats. I also read your writeup about licking of the hands so won‚t be doing that anymore. Then when I was riding I was much more conscious of releasing when he gave me what I wanted and scratching him on his withers and saying "good boy". So I think we have the beginnings of a better relationship. I really wanted to discover how to better bond with my horse. Thank you so much.
Sincerely, Nancy
I just found your website and I'm very grateful for your beautiful expression of kindness, rich understanding and respect for horses. "Bringing peace to horses", an expression that I will always remember. Thank you for your inspiration.

Hello Franklin,

This is an email to share my gratitude for your kindness towards horses and wonderful guidance for everyone. I have workshops for human personal growth with horses, working with the Epona Approach by Linda Kohanov, author Tao of Equus and Riding Between the Worlds. I was drawn to this path because for me it was a study in heart centered connection to horses and to life with respect instead of dominance. I found that same resonance with your writing as well.

Many times I have felt this deep spiritual connection with my horses that touches the part of me that knows we are all on this journey together and that they, in fact, have great information to share with us. I have been blessed to witness many people open to this kind of connection and are profoundly changed. The 'play' with these magnificant creatures opens our hearts to a way of being in life like no other! I am so glad I have found your special work and look forward to reading more from you!

Warmest regards,

Barbara

Dear Franklin,
No question, and no need for you to answer, I understand how busy you are. But I want you to know I speak of you and your site. I love reading your information. We bought ponies and vist your site often. Because of you we have done these things, a gift to us it's been. Wish I started with horses sooner in life. But I Love it. Keep your site availabe always and wishing you the best.

Again Thanks... Ginger Wilcox

Just a note to say hello, have spoken in email w/you before, about 1 month ago. Well bought 2 ponies, love them. Am learning to work with them on the ground, I can't tell you of the terrific feeling I have discovered within myself doing this. It the most wonderful feeling Ive ever had, its like the first time I held a wild baby deer, and heard him call for mom. Its so great I cant put in words. Its all because of you, and your wonderful emails and your website. Thank you so very much. Its 900 pm Indiana time, and got finished about 630 pm with the ponies. I am still hiped.... it was the greatest feeling. Will keep you posted.

You go guy!! Ginger, In Indiana

I'd just like to say what a wonderful site you have. I have spent a long time reading the articles and am putting them into practice with my horse. Keep them coming. The articles you write are truly wonderful.

All the best, Aimee
...I can't thank you enough for helping me so much in understanding what goes on inside a horse's mind...I'm also working on a book with my husband (a first nation's specialist) on horses and their native counterparts in North America....You have really contributed immensely to our understanding of the psyche of the horse which is one of the main issues we are investigating. Thanks, Franklin.

Sincerely, Laila (Dubai)
Dear Mr. Levinson,

I was doing a search for some help with my horses and found your web site. I read alot of the archives. I want to thank you for the caring way you relate to people. The world needs more people like you!

Thank You, Laura, Oregon

Your comments helped me to understand better where she is coming from, what she expects of me, her need to feel safe with me, and the role she needs me to fill, in order for us to have that trust you speak of. I realized later that many of us only think about what we want or expect from a horse, whether we can trust them, our own insecurities, and so on. I'd like to think she loves me, as I love her, but if she's not there yet, I can promise you that I'm working on it, and trying to see myself from her point of view so that I can earn that unconditional love. I hope I'm going about this much as you tried to suggest."......

... and there was Rowdy standing guard with his beautiful flaxen mane and tale blowing in the Oklahoma wind. He was what nature had meant him to be…proud, strong and protective without having to be a bully. They trusted him enough to sleep under his watchful eye.

Franklin, there is no doubt that without the lessons you taught me, that moment would never have happened. Perhaps in the large scheme of things it is not a major event, but it was a victory for trust, respect and love.

Thank you from me, Rowdy and his herd.

Greetings from Nigeria & thank you

Dear Franklin,
I am Magaji Galadima 44 years old male from Nigeria. I love horses, the tradition has run in my family for more than 200 years in my native ancient city of Kano. I now leave in another city, Kaduna, 230 Kilometres from Kano and I am trying to teach my four children (2 boys, 2 girls) the art of keeping horses training and riding. I found your website quite useful and beneficial, thats why I decided to drop you these few lines just to thank you and wish you well.
Best regard, Magaji Galadima
"Rode 'Zillion' (my horse) today and gave him a break after every 5 minutes of learning session. The change in him was amazing, like day and night! He seemed really happy, didn't complain about anything, was very willing to do everything he was asked to do.... It was a really enjoyable experience. The interesting thing is that every time he got a break, he wasn't interested in standing in one place. I thought horses prefer this to anything else, but not my Zillion! Each break time, I stopped him and dropped the reins completely. Like you said, within 30 seconds he sighed and chewed on the bit and once he'd done that, he started to go for a walk around the arena! I made sure that my legs were not on him (so he didn't feel like I was asking him to move forward) and let him go where he wanted to go. He just wandered around the arena, checking out all the jumps, poles, stands, set up in the middle of it. After each break, he was happy and energetic and into continuing the session.

Thanks again so much for everything, Franklin. You are truly a god send!
Laila

Earlier this year I had written to you about problems getting the horse I am leasing to stand still while mounting. Your small circles drill worked perfectly. It took two lessons, 30 minutes the first day and 10 minutes the next to reinforce. He now stands perfectly still for mounting even from the block and from both sides, slack rein, no rein, even with an English saddle. Thanks again for the timely advice and caring. Tons of small things to work on but the goal is the same. I want to leave this horse safer and happier for the next person to enjoy.
What do you do when you've got a horse with behavioral problems and you live where any help beyond your basic veterinary services are nearly impossible to come by?

I was faced with this dilemma a couple of months ago when I discovered expert help was available literally at my finger tips! All I had to do was pick up the phone and dial Franklin's number. Our one hour of in-depth discussion has turned out to be absolutely invaluable to me and my horse.

Needless to say, following Franklin's suggestions, problems with my horse have rapidly been becoming a thing of the past!

Thank you, Laila

I encourage riders/horse owners to consider Franklin's telephone consultations.

If you've found Franklin's website, then like me, perhaps you have been thinking, "there must be a better way to talk to horses." Franklin agrees -- in our first consultation, he suggested I put aside my "agenda" for the horse and instead work on developing trust between horse and rider.

Franklin has provided me with specific techniques for developing trust; and that creates a foundation for solving the other "problem(s)" that are the reason for contacting Franklin in the first place.

Basically, I'm just a Dad who wanted to help his daughter solve some riding problems with a slightly unmanageable horse. The process of discussing horse (and rider) issues and having time to think through the advice before applying it has really helped. Happier daughter, happier horse.

Oh, yeah ... I learned a lot too. Turns out, a horse will pretty much do what you ask it to -- but, you've got to ask the right way.

Thanks, Franklin!

Dear Franklin,

Thank you very much for your response to my letter to you. It prompted me to spend some time on your sight reading many letters in your archive area. I am looking forward, as the round pen thaws out, to spending more time with Sirene on ground work as you suggest to further develop my horses trust in me.

You are very kind to offer so much sound advice, at length, to so many who are looking for help with their horses.

Thanks,
Carol
Hi,

I just had to let you know how super your website is. I have a new 4 year old mare that I am working with who has a super disposition but is trying to assert herself a little bit as being the dominant partner in our relationship. I was able to find a lot of helpful advice from some of the other comments you had to other people. I will give it a try and if I have problems I would love to ask for your advice.  It sounds like you have a wonderful way of working with horses and encourage real partnerships between horses and their people.  It is nice to be able to have a resource such as this available. Thanks.

Heather
Good Morning,

Thank you so very much for your response to my question. I am sure "Trust" is always a question you get from many. I did indeed go back to your site and read the articles you have on display. Even through your words online, I can feel that sense of calmness that I am sure you display to your horses. Calm is so good for them, and love. Truly I love my horse so much, she is like a part of me. I have a long road ahead for her to learn to trust and love me. I believe in my heart I can conquer her fears by being calm and showing her that I am not going to hurt her. I have patience, I am not in a hurry to ride as you put it in one of your articles. I am actually riding her from the ground up. Its such ashame that there are people out there that abuse these wonderful animals and its people like me who love them so much that have to gain all the trust back as a human.   For the first time last night, she got spooked about something, I couldn't even tell you what it was, but I remained calm talking even through her raising of her head and stepping back. I just talked her through it and reassured her that it was ok and I wasn't going to hurt her. She calmed down in a matter of seconds. That was so rewarding to me. You just don't know how much. I was a little scared but didn't project it at all. I had it in my mind that I am going to win her over and just remain calm no matter what she does. IT WORKED!!!

I know I am taking up time, and I apologize, but this is so important to me and I hope you don't mind. I would love to email you again and let you know how Miss Dolly and myself are doing. I appreciate you, your help and most of all your willingness to listen to such an amateur like me. God bless you...

Tracey
Hi Franklin,

I emailed you a little while ago about a 7 year old QH gelding that was quite herd bound. You suggested we try some ground play and saddle work and teaching him to surrender his hindquarters.

Well, I just wanted to thank you for the great tips! The ground work was something we hadn't done much of and as soon as I started focusing on it as well as riding it began to show. In the past month he has made HUGE improvements! We are now riding in the arena chasing cows and he is loving it. He has lost any headshy behaviours he had and is much easier to catch now. He follows me now without me holding a lead shank or his halter. Best of all -- he loves to rest his head on my shoulder, heave a big sigh, and stand with eyes half closed. We cuddle! Six months ago when I brought him home he wouldn't let me get within two feet of him.

In short, we are friends now, and the arguing has gone down dramatically. I can see this horse has lots to learn and so do I, so it makes me feel great when we both get a new concept right. It is great to look back and see how we have slowly come closer and I can't wait to learn more with him.

Anyways I attribute a big part of our improved relationship to your suggestion of ground work and surrendering the hindquarters. Getting off his back and just being around him has really turned his attention to me, and away from his buddies out in the pasture.

Thanks for your help Franklin!
Jill
It is Sarah,

My family and I went to Colorado for a week long program with you in August! I wanted to say thank you! You gave me such a strong bond with horses that will last forever. I have changed to a much more humane barn since the visit with you. In the summer I will be going to shows all over Illinos. That would have never happened if it wasn't for you! Mary-Jane has bought a horse named Mac. He works very well with Mary-Jane. I think the program will help her connect with her horse in special ways. You have made us very confident since the time we spent together. It was very special to me, and now I have more confidence riding and doing other things.

I loved the calming landscape in Colorado and it was nice working with Pete. Thank you for letting me work with him it was very special. He is a very good horse and is lucky to have someone like you. You can work miracles with horses and you worked miracles with me! I can't wait to come and do it again.

Best Wishes & Good Luck, Sarah S.

Franklin easily conveys the spirit and mindset of the horse, even to a person like me who has had little contact with horses. I consulted with him as I developed my solo show, "The Truth about Women and Horses," and through his play-by-play description of what happens in an interaction with a horse--especially an intractable one--I learned the inside story of how a horse and human can connect. He knows the meaning of a twist of ear, or switch of tail, and can communicate his own thinking to the horse by angling his body and where he puts his eyes. The information I gleaned from him in one talk was good enough that when I got on stage and personified a "horse whisperer," the horse people in the audience actually commended my natural horsemanship and round pen work and figured that I was a horse expert like them! Thanks, Franklin, for being a great bridge between our species and the horse.

"Thank you so much for your sugestions in what to do with Ginger. For an update, I have been working with him day and night. I have started all over with him. He is making VERY good progress and i cannot wait to ride him again.

Yesterday, he let me pick up his feet and clean them up. He did not spook or feel uncomfortable. I will look into getting a round pen soon.

Once again, Thank you for everything!! I will keep you updated for sure.

Angie
Picture is of me and my 2 horses. Dobs (Morgan with the red halter) and Ginger, (Fox Trotter, or the troubled one with the white blaze) Ciao` for now.

Picked up Horse Frankie today and already using what you taught me....especially the "being in the now". He wouldn't let me within 20 feet of him. So, I just stood around as close as I could without him moving. I slowly narrowed the distance between us and if he moved away, I respected his not wanting me closer and tried again later. In about a half an hour, he was allowing me to stand right next to him. I gently touched him and he let me. At that point, I thanked him and left.   What was most revealing to me was how I caught myself thinking ahead of how I would get a halter on him or where I would touch him next instead of being in the now. What a revelation! And what a difference when I quit doing it and just was happy with where we were at the moment.

He's beautiful with a great pedigree. Rowdy's looking at him from a distance, but no big deal yet. Edde's worked all day on fixing up a wonderful place for both of them in the barn...just their size. 'll be working with Mr. Rowdy tomorrow on some of the leadership training steps you taught me and I'll let you know how it goes.

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and expertise. Just wanted you to know that I intend to use everything you've taught me so far and I'll be ready for more soon. Say "Hi!" to all from Eddie, me, Rowdy and Frankie.

Your friend, Denise

I am a avid horse lover, I have two mares and one 3 yr. old colt/ stallion, I have just started him in the last month and he is coming around very well.... The reason I am e-mailing you is because I would like to let you know how much I APPRECIATE you and your web site... I'm a 44yr old man that is still learning about horse's and it gets very tiresome and expensive to have to spend 49.95 for the latest training video if you have a simple question that needs answered. I do own several tapes myself, It seems as though no one wants to just help any longer without a price tag attached... I will always try and assist someone that is having a problem with their horse if I feel like I can be of some help. Anyway I just thought you should know that your kindness is not going un-noticed. Thank You Rusty Skiatook, OK.

"Way of The Horse" Seminars

Dear Franklin,

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for a great clinic once again at Rose O'Sharon Arabians (...Grand Junction, CO) last weekend. We enjoy coming to them every time (4th one) and learn something new and most helpful each time.

Blessings to you always, Chris & Mike

I wanted to contact you about that mare I told you about who was a problem loader. I say "was", because she isn't such a problem anymore.

...Thank you so much, Franklin, for hearing me out about this problem and giving me such simple advice. I've also learned that my way of doing things may not be as quick in getting results as my horse trainer friends, but I can get the same results and be just as comfortable with it. I've also noticed that I have a calmer horse when all is said and done!

Sincerely, Sue

“Many people know how to ride. Few have that special gift to teach others. Franklin Levinson is one. He truly cares about you, your horse, your love of riding. We are very lucky to have him in the equestrian world he loves.”

Roberta McGowan, Colorado

"The spirit that you brought to Maypine four short months ago is still in the air. Andrea and Lauren use and teach the techniques that you shared with them when you were here. It is wonderful seeing Lauren bonding with her Grand Prix horses on this level. I truly believe that she benefited the most from your teachings. She is already a wonderful rider, but now she has some form of understanding that was lacking in her approach to the horses. Hallie and Comet are doing well also, they are regulars in our ring again, which if you knew them before, that was not the case. Hallie diligently uses your techniques every day she is with Comet, they also have benefited from this experience.

We look forward to your return this year."

"THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT DAY! I learned a lot and hope to use it in the many days (...to come) in the saddle. I learned more in five hours than I had in fourteen years."

"... I grew up on a horse farm and have been riding and competing since I was five. I have won two national junior championships and trained with the trainer of the Olympic show jumping team and an Olympic gold and silver medallist, but I had never communicated with my horses as effectively as I did this weekend with Franklin's help. His techniques are common-sense-horse-sense, but few people know about them or use them in their own training. As a result, they are not able to get the best out of their horses. Franklin's clinic helped me get back to the basics of good horsemanship. He focused on the ground work which is so often overlooked by most riders and trainers. I learned from Franklin that success with horses begins on the ground and translates into success on their back and in the show ring. From now on, I will always use and teach the invaluable techniques that Franklin shared with me and my students. These techniques taught me how to establish my relationship with my horses as one of leadership and mutual respect. I know that Franklin's techniques have become an integral part of my journey to become a real horse person and will help me achieve my goal of successfully representing my country in international show jumping."

"Franklin Levinson's program was thoroughly fascinating. Being fairly new to riding, I learned an incredible amount about these beautiful animals. Horses need to trust and respect you and this was certainly apparent when Franklin interacted with them."

"There are times in a person's life when you see something so beautiful and inspirational that you just want to tell everyone you know. And that is how I felt watching Franklin communicate with the horses. A man who demonstrates respect, compassion, understanding, patience, and the willingness to be ‘One’ with one of nature's most spectacular creatures. And last but not least, an opportunity for each of us who embrace his ideas, to connect with our own knowing heart."

Martha from Aspen

"Franklin, you have taught me:
  • The importance of leadership (both in horse and human)
  • How to take a deep breath, accept and let go of the one's who don't have the passion that we do.
  • That it's ok to slow down (especially with horses!!)

Cari can contest, you changed my teaching style. When we sat in the circle day one, I asked how to articulate and educate. By the end of the weekend I saw that your patience and thoroughness was much more effective overall than any quick, hurried or frustrated resolution. Your presence is still in the air- it was a pleasure having you in Cleveland.
Thank you very much."

"Franklin demonstrated what it is like to connect from the heart and to communicate from a quiet, caring and listening place. All of us, including our horses who interacted with Franklin, changed some aspects of our behavior. That we would experience these positive effects was way beyond any of my expectations." "The weekend changed my life and the life of my horses. Franklin just joins with the horse in a place of peace. The idea of the comfort of the horse being paramount above our own agenda is so simple yet so powerful. I am excited to take what I learned out into the world and into my life. Thank you SO much. You all Rock!"

"I have had and ridden horses for thirty years and this two day seminar shifted my whole point of view from what task I had to get done (such as getting the bridle on or getting the horse to do something I want him to do) to being very aware of what's going on with the horse, what he's feeling (whether apprehension, interest, fear, etc.) and having learned simple ways to communicate with the horse and develop a working partnership, that the horse is happy to participate in."

"The awareness of the horse as a living being with many emotions and the ability we have to be sensitive to that, to promote our cooperation together was a very exciting and unique experience with many analogies in all relationships."

Joe Edwards

"Franklin gives the horse owner the confidence to continue working with their horse. He works from the heart."

Catherine Oppenheimer

"I met Franklin at an Introductory Evening for 'The Way of the Horse' seminar and was taken with his authentic, gentle spirit while working with horses. In sharing my frustration and concern with a particularly gorgeous young mare with many behavioral problems, he expressed a willingness to work with her, and thus we came to his two-day seminar.

Never once did Franklin show anything but kindness, leadership and understanding to this mare. As we worked with her, Franklin showed me ways of centering my intentions, putting asides 'my agenda' and allowing her to pick up the messages of trust and respect. I came home with a different horse - not one without issues still to be worked through, but a horse that is willing to try and allows me to take the necessary time it will require to get her past her fears.

Thank you, Franklin, for taking me a step closer to being a better horseman."

"We really enjoyed working with you, and Lucky Luke was wonderful. My daughter, Miwa was smiling a lot, and that is very important. She must have felt safe and felt very confident with herself. At the beginning, I thought that Lucky Luke was an extremely smart horse, but then I saw that you had put the magic on him, that let him put the magic on Miwa."

Maui Horse Whispering

I had a great day with Jill a wonderful teacher and person. We talked last night and I received wonderful directions....When I signed the waiver I said, "should I put down most sunburned guest?" It was a glorious, sunny day. Thank you for referring me to Jill and (..and the Maui Horse Whisperer Experience).......maybe someday our paths will cross.

Sincerely, Linda Tell

Howdy Jill,

I spent the entire day at the office sending jpgs and just wanderlusting and daydreaming about my experience. I changed my desktop with the photo of Jet and me! :)

This wahine was just about to admire herself by viewing the pixes again when I saw your email.  Great to hear from you! I too had a superior day at the ranch and just chillin' with you and the horses, goats, and all creatures big and small--dang, even the lemonade tasted extra special delicious! And, patrol pig, so doggone cute! Gotta' love him, even tho' he ignored us as he was 'busy'. :)

As Franklin says on his website and I have quoted it to others, in history and legend, horses represent the highest of human ideals -- dignity, integrity, and grace.

I will want to hang again once more and will see how that fits in with my new fiscal year and the tight stretch of taking care of the entire State of Hawaii for VA approved educational institutions!

I just got home from my 'Maui Horse Experience' with Jill. What a wonderful experience! I feel as though I escaped from my little world for part of today and had a dream about learning to communicate with horses...how to earn their confidence and respect, and how to have more self confidence so that I can get to know my horses at home and enjoy them even more!!  I only wish that someone had opened my eyes to this world of communicating with Equus before I was 49!!!! Anyway, I'm so greatful to have had this opportunity. The whole world needs to learn how to communicate this way! What a better place this world be for our wonderful equines and for those of us fortunate enough to cross paths with them. Thank you to you and Jill for making my Maui trip so meaningful.

Best Regards,
Lisamarie Hurst

Super! What a great experience. The only problem is that it was one day. I would love to spend hours/days/months working with Jill, she has such an incredible wealth of knowledge. I would recommend this experience to anyone who loves horses or has an interest in them. Her mare and colt are fabulous animals. It was for me one of my all time best experiences in life. I would do it again and again. Thank you for connecting Jill and the Maui experience.

Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you that words can't describe how much we enjoyed our Maui horse whisperer experience. I know my husband had been a little skeptical about doing it, but wouldn't you know - we're back in the Bronx over a week and he's still telling people about it! I worked with Ladybug (whom I understand was your horse) and my husband worked with Columbia. I think he had Columbia eating out of his hand (not literally!) almost immediately! Ladybug was more of a challenge but when I found out that she was 23 yrs. old and the former leader of her herd, I could understand why she liked things her way! Anyway she was as sweet as could be. We both came away from the experience with a totally new appreciation of horses, as well as a better knowledge of how our interaction with them determines how they respond to us.

When we go back to Maui, (hopefully in the next 2-3 years) we will definitely do this again.

Many thanks and happy holidays!

Hi Franklin,

We just returned from our magnificent trip to Maui! Wow! It was sure worth the wait.

We actually did get to spend the afternoon with Jillian and her horses. That was also magnificent! She was hindered by her injury but it did not hinder our experience. She was gracious, warm, and very knowledgeable. My husband and I had a truly amazing time with her and the horses. We have some terrific pictures to keep the memory fresh for us. The weather was beautiful, the sites were breathtaking, and the conversation was enlightening.

I would recommend this equine experience to everyone. We did get more out of it than we expected. We did not get to ride as we originally thought (the coastal ride). Gillian did explain that you no longer offer that as we were not aware of that fact until we had arrived there that day. It did not take away from the experience though. It would have just been the cherry on the top if it were to actually be an option.

We thank you and your organization. It made our trip to Maui that much more special.

Sincerely,
Karen Keegan

First of all, thank you very much for letting us know and introducing Jillian and The Maui Horse Whisperer Experience, she was just super and we really appreciate her great job while we were taking her lessons. As I mentioned already she was just a nice person and about her lessons, I don't know how to express her great jobs for us.  It was so easy to follow what she talked to us, even we were just beginners. And also we had enough time for questions and answers from time to time so we were very happy satisfied to take her lessons.

What she did for us was exactly what were expected and we do not have any complaints. When we go back to Maui, we definitely go back to Jillian's place again. Jillian is amazing and she knows how to teach from beginners and I am sure for the experts. We loved to watch one of her favorite horses called Drallion. That was very exciting.

Especially Jillian's way of talking was so easy to listen to because she is originally from Santa Cruz, California and I was in the Bay Area for 8 years when I was in college. And one of her employees, Greg is also from Palo Alto, California and he is just a hard worker and helps Jillian a lot. He is the same age
of our first daughter that is in Georgia Southern University right now.

Thank you very much, Jillian. My wife, Kiyomi was so happy with you too.

Keep in touch, Frank.

Hello;
Just returned home late this week. My daughter Ali and I really enjoyed our Horsewhisperer experience on Maui. Here are a few details.

Comments from Ali: I thought it was awsome! When I get a horse I will train her just like that, I heard about the language of equis several times in horse magazenes and it was really neat to accually speak it! It was an amaising experience! I would love to do it again!

Comments from Linda: I now feel that I have a framework for which to play with horses, an understanding of their communication cues. The experience left me with more interest in horses and a better sense of calm when I am around them.   I would definitely do another experience - maybe in Colorado next time and for the day?

Thanks again,
Linda and Ali
Just a note of thanks for a superb, interesting program. We feel very fortunate to have experienced such an incredible opportunity with Merlin, Ladybug, and of course - Jillian. She obviously loves what she does and is a powerful teacher. We will be in Colorado in the next couple of weeks - if we get by Aspen, we would love to meet you .
Thanks again,
Rick and Sheri Goddard
Hello Franklin!
I just wanted to let you know that the Horse Whisperer Experience was great!  It was better than I could have ever imagined. With Jillian's instruction, I actually communicated with Merlin in his own language.  Jillian was very patient and encouraging. I never would have believed that I could ask a horse to walk, canter, change direction and follow me with such subtle movements and he would respond! This was the coolest thing I've done since I've been in Hawaii.

Thank You!,

Jane Beth Hendrickson

Dear Franklin:
The day I spent at your ranch in Maui was a wonderful unforgettable experience. Craig Moore is a wonderful teacher and horseman. He worked very hard for hours teaching me about the Horse Whisperer Experience. One of Craig's best qualities was his gentle, sincere, patient, attitude with me as well as with the horses. Diane was also excellent on riding position and posture as well as taking many photographs for me. Diane took good care of me as an over weight, out of shape inexperienced rider.

One of my favorite moments was watching the pretty young lady who feeds and grooms the horses. I could tell that the horses trust her completely and she has a deep love for them.

I got more than my money's worth and was delighted with the training and fun.
